Pheasant's Tears - Rkatsiteli Bodbiskhevi
Pheasant's Tears presents a rare interpretation of Georgia's signature white grape—made entirely without skin contact. The 2024 Rkatsiteli from Bodbiskhevi is harvested early and direct-pressed into stainless steel using a pneumatic press. Grown on 45-year-old vines rooted in carbonic alluvial soil with sandstone, quartz, and sea-floor fossils, this expression reveals the shy, subtle side of Rkatsiteli. Gentle stone fruit and pear with a bright, refreshing finish and clean, easygoing character.
Grape: Rkatsiteli
Region: Kakheti, Sighnaghi region, Georgia
Farming: Organic
Pairings: Rkatsiteli is a versatile, high-acid Georgian white grape, often described as a mix of Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. It pairs beautifully with fresh seafood, bright spring salads, grilled chicken, or a spring pea risotto!
Que Vida - Tempranillo
In many villages in the Rioja Alta area, the greeting "Que Vida" represents the idea of simple countryside life. Applied to wine, "Que Vida" will be a "back to the essence" style, featuring wines without aging or winemaking intervention. This "Cosecheros" style, meaning wines meant to be drunk young, is traditionally poured by the glass at bars in the villages where "Que Vida" is said. The vineyards are located in a valley close to the Ebro river, and the valley location combined with the limestone gives this Tempranillo an expressive Mediterranean style. No sulfites have been added.
This wine is made via carbonic maceration, showcasing pure, intense fruit flavors with little to no oak intervention. It offers a deep purple color, aromatic notes of ripe cherry, plum, violet, and rosemary, with a smooth, medium-bodied palate, lively acidity, and soft tannins.
Grapes: 100% Tempranillo
Region: Rioja Alta
Farming: Organic
Pairings: Excellent with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, spaghetti pomodoro, or a juicy cheeseburger!
